French based Alcatel or Alcatel-Lucent as they are now known (having merged with Lucent Technologies in 2006), are seen as a major player within the global telecommunications market. Providing everything from telecoms hardware and software; through to telco services, to businesses and end users on a global basis.
At the Mobile World Congress in 2008 Alcatel released their most recent mobile phone designs. These are not designed to compete with the high-end smart phones or even the Apple iPhone, but to provide customers with an easy to use mobile with the standard features that they have come to expect.
